NUVO ZYDECO
Upbeat Party & Dance Music from Louisiana
NUVO ZYDECO delivers a lively, high-energy and interactive musical experience as British Columbia’s premier Zydeco band. From festivals, parties, dance halls and beyond, Nuvo Zydeco always gets the crowd movin’ and shakin’ on the dance floor!
THE BAND
Randy Schultz
Bandleader. Vocalist. Guitarist. Songwriter. Ninja. Randy does it all and is the backbone of Nuvo Zydeco which he founded in 2016. He has toured and played with some of the most prominent names in Zydeco music during his time living in Louisiana. He’s also a vintage car buff and can fix anything with his eyes closed (but usually keeps them open for safety purposes).
Sue Baines
Nuvo’s ‘accordion godess’ is a multi-instrumentalist, educator and author and can please and tease the keys with ease on her main squeeze. Sue teaches music therapy at Capilano U and is the music therapist at the German-Canadian Care Home. Her family and friends are always top priority as is supporting and volunteering for social justice causes.
Rob Harvey
For all of your low frequency needs, wants and desires, Rob has you covered. He has played in countless bands and has been a part of the BC music scene for 35 years not only as a bassist, but also as a sound engineer extraordinaire. While on stage with Nuvo he’s an energetic groove machine but behind the scenes he’s an avid gardener and grows the best garlic in town.
Kyle Sternat
The washboard is an integral part of Zydeco music which Kyle handles with ease, groove and energy. His vocal duties include lead and backup, blending effortlessly with the other harmonies. Off stage he’s a handyman/family man and owns a cabin in the woods. Not in a creepy or weird or ‘I’m going to call the cops’ kind of way, he just loves fishing.
Cale Pellick
Cale recently relocated to BC after 30 years as a professional musician on the New Orleans music scene. He is also passionate about production & composition and his original music can be heard on over 1000 episodes of TV aired worldwide. Besides music, Cale loves to downhill ski and has proudly managed not to break anything while doing so.
